I am an Assistant Professor of Arabic at the University of New Mexico. My research focuses on language and intercultural learning, especially for Arabic learners studying abroad. I teach all levels of Arabic classes at UNM, and am particularly interested in the challenges and benefits of applying research on language and intercultural learning in the classroom.
I received my PhD in Second Language Studies from Michigan State University in 2012, and a combined BS/MS Degree in Sociolinguistics from Georgetown University in 2004.
I'm also a Scottish Highland Dance teacher and judge. If you're looking for that information, visit my Highland Dance Albuquerque website.
